If you are visiting Xi ‘an for the first time, five days is enough time for you to appreciate the charm of this ancient city. Under the thoughtful guidance of our guide, Ah Jie, my boyfriend and I made our trip to Xi ‘an both rich and enjoyable. Here is my detailed five-day itinerary and route planning guide for you.

Day 2: A Trip to Historical Relics
Morning: Go to the Museum of Terracotta Army, hailed as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. Admire the vivid terracotta warriors and learn about the history and culture of the Qin Dynasty.
Afternoon: Visit the Huaqing Palace, a royal garden in the Tang Dynasty. You can watch the live show of “The Song of Everlasting Sorrow” (tickets need to be booked in advance).
Evening: Have free time. You can choose to soak in the hot spring at a nearby hot – spring hotel to relax.

Day 3: Exploration of Huashan Mountain
All day: Drive to Huashan Mountain. Renowned for its steepness and perilousness, this famous mountain will present you with magnificent natural scenery. You can choose to take the cable car or hike up the mountain, enjoying the unique peaks, strange rocks, and spectacular views of Huashan. Pay attention to arranging your time reasonably and ensure your safety.

Day 4: A Journey of Culture and Art
Morning: Take a stroll along the Xi’an City Wall and experience the profoundness and vicissitudes of this ancient city with a history of thousands of years. Cycling on the city wall is also a great option.
Afternoon: Visit the Shaanxi History Museum, China’s first large – scale modern national – level museum. It houses a rich collection of cultural relics, demonstrating the development of ancient Chinese history.
Evening: Head to Huimin Street again to deeply experience the nightlife and food culture of Xi’an.

Day 5: Farewell to Xi’an
Morning: Visit the Forest of Stone Steles Museum to understand the essence of Chinese calligraphy art. A large number of steles, epitaphs, and stone carvings are collected here.
Afternoon: Go to the Xi’an Museum to gain an in – depth understanding of Xi’an’s history and culture. Subsequently, according to your departure time, you can have free activities or go shopping. You can buy some special souvenirs of Xi’an, such as terracotta warrior models, paper – cuttings, shadow puppets, etc.
Evening: Pack your luggage, conclude your pleasant trip to Xi’an, and arrange airport transfer service according to your flight time.

Recommendations for Must – Try Delicacies
1. Roujiamo: A special snack in Xi’an. It consists of roasted bread stuffed with braised pork or other types of meat, offering a rich taste.
2. Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup: This delicious dish is made with roasted lamb and pieces of bread, and the soup is extremely flavorful.
3. Liangpi: These are thin sheets made from flour, combined with various seasonings and vegetables, presenting a smooth and refreshing taste.
